Worst Class Ever gameplay and mechanics

Last checked 2026-11-061 min read

This page summarises systems from the Steam page and developer posts. Balance details were still changing during the demo, so treat numbers and rules as provisional. The full release was not out when we checked.

Round structure

One player is the teacher and the others are students. Students try to pull off pranks without being caught, and the teacher tries to find and shut down every troublemaker and restore order. The developer's demo patch notes refer to a Mischief Points total that students must reach to win, and to stamina the teacher uses and can recover.

Hiding among NPCs

NPC classmates act like students sitting at desks. October updates expanded NPC student AI so they behave in more varied ways after leaving their seats, and the developer says NPCs were tweaked to be more deceptive.

Pranks and items

Steam names smoke bombs, tranquilizer guns and drones, and says students and the teacher each get their own items. The demo added things like balloons that increase mischief value when they hit the teacher, bananas to slip on and a chalk that the teacher aims at students. Catching a student gives the teacher extra stamina, and captured students can be rescued.

Maps and movement

The demo included a multi-floor school with a computer lab on the fourth floor, added October 23. Students can crawl forward between desks, open classroom back doors and leave their seats while holding items.

Player counts and rooms

The Steam text says up to 6 players, one teacher against five students. The developer says the full release raises this to 8 players per match and offers customizable rooms with up to 20 settings. Public rooms and friend invites through an in-game phone were part of the demo.
