Spirit Crossing gameplay and mechanics
Spirit Crossing is a social, cozy multiplayer game with quests, crafting, decoration and light co-op activities. The details below come from the Steam page and Spry Fox update notes. Systems were still changing during the playtest, so check the latest notes.
Quests and spirits
Daily quests rebuild communities and heal troubled spirits. Music is part of the loop: the Steam page says you restore joy through music, and communal bonfires let you share songs during storms.
Housing and style
You get a piece of mountain peak to design, from cottage to castle. The page mentions hundreds of designs for hairstyles, dyes and outfits, dozens of emotes, and a possible pre-furnished roommate bear. Update 15.2 introduced Plots in the waystation changes.
Meeting other players
Other players appear as shadows. A high five or shared activity makes them bloom into colour. Update 15.2 added Moods, including "Not Feeling Social", which stops automatic meetings and requests from non-friends, and Newbie and Volunteer Guide moods that make you visible on the map. It also added auto-meeting when playing music together or riding a fluffalo train, and blocked players' avatars are now fully hidden. Friend recruit codes are generated from the main menu.
Waystations, crafting and resources
Update 15.4 reworked waystation crafting stations: they no longer have upgraded versions, and no longer need recipe limits or recipe fragments to install recipes. It also covered tournament reward and pickaxe harvesting improvements. Update 15.3 replaced the Trusty and Lucky tool enhancements with Bounty (bonus resources, costs coins) and Riches (bonus coins, costs two resource types), and made enhancements 100 percent reliable.
Fishing and activities
Fishing is a core relaxed activity. Update 15.3 added new wilderness activities including Sky Fishing, and Hardtack hosts fishing tournaments. Co-op mini-games were added before the Steam playtest.
Money model
A one-time purchase unlocks the full game. A separate optional Cozy Club membership offers perks such as customizing your flying pet fluffalo, collecting exclusive flairs and a limited resource exchange shop. The studio says it avoids microtransactions. No numeric drop rates, recipe costs or economy values are listed here because they changed repeatedly during playtest.
