Horses of Hoofprint Bay is a management and care simulation, and the sources we checked describe no storyline beyond its starting premise. This page stays short for that reason.

Premise

The Steam text says you have finally saved enough to buy a plot of land with a run-down shack of a stable. You and your trusted mare begin training to take part in tournaments in the nearby town and grow your ramshackle yard into the stud farm of your dreams.

Places

The store page and dev updates mention the town of Hoofprint Bay, a competition arena, a horse care hitching post, a beach, and trail rides through forest, along the coast and into the mountains. Developer posts also describe a tack shop and a breeder who offers horses. Dev updates mention quests as additional content the team was still adding in August 2026, but the sources do not describe them.

Staff and characters

An August dev update introduces Maria, a retired competition rider you can hire who comments on what you should do differently in training. The Steam page says you can hire and manage staff and take in boarders. Named story characters are not described in the sources checked.

Real horse knowledge

The developers say the game is made by three horse enthusiasts who want it to be accurate and educational wherever that does not hurt the fun, and that not every aspect is fully realistic. An in-game library holds equestrian knowledge about the game's horses and real ones.
